Check out Prospect Creek

A RARE opportunity will be available next year as Prospect Creek State School opens its enrolment catchment.

The school has vacancies for 2020. Phone 4992 1490.

Colour run

STUDENTS participated in a colour run on Friday, October 25, to raise money on Day for Daniel for the Daniel Morcombe Foundation.

The students had a fantastic time completing laps around the oval, while being sprayed with brightly coloured powder by staff and parents. The students raised $1124.30, which is an amazing effort for a school of just 41 kids.

Sustainable garden

THROUGHOUT the year students have been maintaining our vegetable garden.

The latest produce went into quiches, which students cooked to share.

As well as the garden, there is now a worm farm to create our own organic fertiliser from the student’s food scraps.

Reptile show

REPTILE Education Safety Training Australia visited the school earlier this term, with the students learning how to identify different types of reptiles and invertebrates, their life cycles and habitats, how they survive in the wild and what they should do if they see a venomous reptile. Students got up close and personal with lizards, spiders, snakes and a crocodile.

Transition program

THIS term, we are running our “Prior Prep” transition program.

Every Wednesday, students preparing to join us for prep in 2020 participate in art and craft, numeracy, literacy and science activities.

This program supports a smooth transition to school.
