Child abuser rushed to hospital during court hearing
A FATHER who tricked his daughter and her friend into flashing their breasts on webcam was rushed to hospital after he began to vomit in court when the details of his vile offending were read aloud.
Using the recent death of his daughter's grandfather against her, the father gave the girls - aged about 12 to 13 at the time - a laptop with a webcam attached during a sleepover.
He told his daughter a boy in a chat room had just lost his grandfather as well and urged her to talk to him about it.
Once he left the room, the boy convinced the girls to show their breasts and bottoms to the camera before they realised it was the father on the other end.
When confronted, he laughed and said he was just making sure his daughter was internet safe.
The father - who can't be named to protect the identity of his victim - yesterday appeared in Maroochydore District Court on two counts of indecent treatment of a child under 12 and using the internet to procure a child under 16.
Clearly distressed and rocking back and forth in the dock, the court was adjourned after the man began throwing up in a bin during Crown prosecutor Aleksandra Nikolic's submissions.
The court heard the offences began when the victim was seven and continued until she was 13.
The first instance of abuse involved the man rubbing his body up against his daughter during play-fighting before kissing her and putting his tongue in her mouth.
Several years later he told her and a friend to walk around the house in their bras and underwear and later came into her room and rubbed her leg.
His daughter first came forward with details of the abuse when she was 16, with her father pleading guilty the day before the case was supposed to go to trial.
When the man was unable to compose himself, it was decided he would be transported to a mental health unit and an ambulance was called to the courthouse.
The case will be reviewed this morning with the sentencing to conclude at a later date.
