Chocolate the magic remedy for little cancer battlers

EASTER magic made its way into Brisbane's Lady Cilento Children's Hospital on Friday thanks to the kindness of Coles Stockland Rockhampton.

Young oncology patients got a nice surprise when Rockhampton neuroblastoma battler Zane Brown and his mum Kristie Burns handed out Easter eggs donated by Rockhampton Coles team members.

Kristie, who works at Coles Rockhampton, said it was a lovely gesture by her work colleagues.

"All of the staff members decided to donate some Easter eggs for the kids," Kristie said.

"All of the children loved it and were happy to receive them."

Kristie said Zane, who has been receiving treatment at the children's hospital since May last year, also had his fix of Easter eggs over the weekend.

"Zane has been really good and he ate lots of chocolate, which we don't mind because we're trying to get his weight up," Kristie said.

Kristie said Zane's treatment was going well and he was expected to finish up in Brisbane and return home to Rocky by the end of May.
