Chris Brown makes 'payday' claim over hit and run charge

CHRIS Brown has denied being involved in a criminal hit and run.

The 'Fine China' singer was charged with leaving the scene of a crime without exchanging proper information and for driving without a valid licence on Tuesday morning (25.06.13), in connection with a minor car crash in Los Angeles last month, but insists the charges are "ridiculous".

The 23-year-old hit back at the allegations in a series of posts on Twitter, writing: "It's not a hit and run if u get out the car, exchange information (who has NO DAMAGE to either cars). This is really ridiculous.

"I have a valid drivers licence and I gave the woman the right info. She saw cameras and wanted to make a scene.

"She contacted the cops thinking of a payday from Chris Brown when I followed the proper procedures.

"My lawyers will be contacting you. I will not stand for this bullying and yellow journalism!

"My profile pic is the pic I took of the persons car after 'the hit and run'. NO damage. Just a dirty car. once again, I gotta clear my name

"I work my a** off to provide for my entire family. I've made mistakes in the past and have worked hard to be a better person.

"19-24 years of age. I don't have all the answers and you can't show me a person that age who has it figured out. We live and grow. Let me live (Sic)"

The L.A. City Attorney has filed 2 criminal charges against Chris for allegedly rear-ending a Mercedes last month, refusing to give the female driver his licence number and giving her false insurance information before leaving the scene, according to gossip website TMZ.com.

If convicted, Chris, who is still on probation for beating his ex-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009, could be sentenced to four years in jail for violating the terms of his probation.
