Christmas spirit alive at parade

THE spirit of Christmas descended on Rockhampton yesterday evening as thousands thronged Musgrave Street for the annual parade.

Excited children, many dressed in appropriate seasonal costume, strained to see the colourful slow procession on its way to Stockland.

The parade, led by a pipe band, contained dancers, cheerleaders and three wise men on camels.

Later, at Stockland, a Christmas concert featured musicians and singers from Bel Canto, dancers from Glenmore High School, The Rockhampton Grammar School’s senior signing choir and Sea FM morning crew presenter Brad, going solo without his mate Chooky.

The winning floats, announced by Mayor Brad Carter, were those from Narnia Kindergarten, Plantability and Cathedral of Praise.
