Classmates farewell Sidonie

UPDATE: TWO white doves have been released at a memorial service for Brisbane schoolgirl Sidonie Thompson who was killed last week in a suspected murder-suicide.

The Somerville House community - still struggling to come to terms with the events of last Wednesday - held a  service for the 14-year-old this afternoon.

Prior to the gathering, principal Florence Kearney told reporters two doves would be released at the end in commemoration of Sidonie and her mother.

Students would wear ribbons of remembrance in one of Sidonie's favourite colours, pale blue.

Mrs Kearney said white and blue balloons would be released by Year 10 students, along with one green balloon representing Somerville House.

Sidonie's brother and father were expected to attend the private service.
