Claws name 19-member squad after weekend trials

NETBALL: The Capricorn Claws have named a 19-member squad following weekend trials.

Thirty players hit the court on Sunday, and also underwent fitness testing that will make up part of a statewide benchmarking process with Netball Queensland.

The squad includes three players from this year's open team - Abbie Buchholz, Tia Konui and Ashlee Whouley.

The squad will start pre-season training before the final team trials on February 3.

Former Claws player Zoe Seibold has taken the reins as coach and Rockhampton's Sharni Upton has been appointed assistant coach.
