Cleaner charged with sexual assault of teen working for him
A COFFS Harbour man has been charged with offences relating to the sexual and indecent assault of a young girl over a number of years.
Detectives from the Child Abuse Squad's Coffs Harbour office received information in late January alleging a man aged in his sixties had sexually and indecently assaulted a girl over a period of years - while she was working for him.
The alleged assaults took place over the course of 2011, 2012 and 2013. During these years, the girl was aged between 12 and 15, and was working on a casual basis for the man's cleaning business.
On Thursday afternoon, detectives from the Child Abuse Squad attended a property on Bonnie St in North Boambee Valley, where they arrested a 67-year-old man.
He was taken to Coffs Harbour Police Station where he was charged with three counts of aggravated sexual assault, eight counts of aggravated indecent assault (under authority) and one count of commit act of indecency towards person under 16 years in circumstances of aggravation.
The man was refused bail and is scheduled to appear in Coffs Harbour Local Court today.
