Cleaning up Rockhampton with 25 washing machines

ROBERT Foster is cleaning up Rockhampton - well, at least people's clothes.

Mr Foster has opened Super Clean Laundromat after saying there's a lack of the cleaning businesses in Rocky.

"A laundromat has potential; there are people that use them on a regular basis, travellers stop in and even when a person's washing machines break down at home," Mr Foster explained.

Mr Foster and his wife Lynette have been part of the motel business most their lives, and had been looking to change their work lifestyles.

Mr Foster's family owned a motel on Musgrave St for years, but said they sold four years ago looking for something different.

The motel industry was where they realised there was a gap in the market for the laundry business.

While Mr Foster is venturing into a new business area, he said it's all about customer service.

"We learnt the value of customer service having owned a motel," Mr Foster said.

"And we're providing our customers with the latest machines from America."

And if you don't feel like washing your own clothes, they even offer a service where they will wash, dry and fold clothes.

Mr Foster isn't worried about not having a lot of experience when it comes to running a laundromat.

"The machines do all the work - it's like cooking a roast, you put it in and a little while later it comes out done," he said.

Mr Foster is determined not to let his customers get bored, by installing a flat screen TV, free wireless and air-conditioning.

Super Clean Laundromat is located on 37 Queens Elizabeth Dr, Rockhampton.
