Clifford aims up for repeat performance at tonight's comp

Katrina Clifford is a sharp shooter.

The Rockhampton Cyclones star led the way for Frenchville Panthers White against Toledo Blue last week and will be aiming for a repeat performance in round three of the Rocky women's competition tonight.

Panthers White will take on Ripperteam in division one.

Clifford played a key role as the Panthers downed Toledo Blue 53-47, leading all scorers with a round-high 26 points.

Meanwhile, Rockets' starting point guard and finals' MVP Mitch Philp will have to wait a week before he and his Frenchville Panthers Green can avenge last week's loss. The Panthers, beaten 62-52 by Ripperteam Tropics last week, have the bye this week.

Philp and his teammates fought back hard after Tropics cruised to a 10-point led halfway through the second quarter but despite their best efforts, Frenchville failed to get across the line.

In tomorrow night's games, Toledo Red will play Ripperteam Tropics and Frenchville Panthers Stingers will take on Ripperteam Silver.

In women's matches tonight, Frenchville Panthers Green clash with Gladstone and Toledo Blue go head-to-head with All Blacks.

ROUND TWO RESULTS

Women's: All Blacks def. Frenchville Panthers Green 34-13, Gladstone def. Ripperteam 68-37, Frenchville Panthers White def. Toledo Blue 53-47

Men's: Ripperteam Tropics def. Frenchville Panthers Green 66-52, Toledo Red def. Frenchville Panthers Stingers 67-35.
