Club shuns CEO resignation queries

RUMOURS spread quickly around Browne Park on Saturday night that the club's chief executive Scott Minto had handed his resignation to the board.

It was a strangely quiet club yesterday with none of the personnel in key positions, both administration and coaching, answering calls from The Morning Bulletin.

Family said Comets chairman Scott Chapman was working but he had not responded to messages left on his mobile phone while Minto was not answering his phone either.

Even coach Wayne Barnett was missing in action.

It is believed that Minto, a former Broncos and Cowboys star, will pursue a business interest.

Comets players were informed of Minto's decision on Friday evening prior to the team's 34-0 loss to Norths Devils on Saturday night.
