Roar coach confident Broich will be fit for shot at Glory

BRISBANE Roar coach Mike Mulvey has given every indication playmaker Thomas Broich will take the field for the A-League clash against Perth Glory at nib Stadium on Friday night.

Broich (pictured) trained separately from the main group on Monday after suffering a corked thigh during last weekend's 2-1 loss to Adelaide United.

But defender Ivan Franjic (stomach strain) is unlikely to play for the Roar after missing Saturday's clash.

"Ivan, I've probably put a pen through his name already. We need to give him time to recover properly," Mulvey said. "Thomas, I'm more hopeful for. He definitely wants to play. Knowing him, his powers of recovery and determination, there's a good chance he'll be fit."

The Roar players will train in Brisbane tomorrow before their flight west.

Mulvey added that he thought new Glory coach Kenny Lowe was moving the club in the right direction.
