Coal companies commit to NRL bid

CENTRAL Queensland’s bid for an NRL team has today received a major boost with a number of coal industry companies committing $440,000 in funding towards the development of the bid’s business plan.

In a significant coup for the CQ NRL Bid, prominent coal companies BMA, Jellinbah Group and Cockatoo Coal, together with QR National and Gladstone Ports Corporation will join forces to provide financial support to the bid.

These companies have also indicated that while the bid is being developed, they will look to work with other coal companies and suppliers in seeking to bring together the necessary sponsorship for the team.
