Coast firies monitor illegal burn

FIREFIGHTERS are monitoring a grass fire at Woodbury after a person was found burning off without a permit.

Authorities were notified about 10am today with initial fears a house may be under threat.

The property is currently not under threat, but because of strong winds on the Capricorn Coast, Cooberrie and Woodbury rural fire crews remain at the scene.

People burning without permits is an escalating problem locally and this will be explored in more depth in tomorrow's Weekend Bulletin.
