Coast Guard exercise a success

RECENTLY the Keppel Barge donated it's services to the Yeppoon Coast Guard Search and Rescue Exercise.

Almost 30 staff jumped on board to participate and assist in the exercise.

A big thanks to all of our team who volunteered their time to participate in a Search and Rescue Exercise (SAREX) with the Yeppoon Coast Guard QF11 and Water Police.

The SAREX was conducted by the Australian Volunteer Coast Guard Central QLD Squadron and the QLD Police Service the exercise included police divers, QF20 Keppel Sands, QF19 Rockhampton and QF11 Yeppoon Flotillas.

To all of us who spend our days on the water, these guys are our saviours. We cannot thank them enough for all they do.

Every day is another adventure on the Keppel Barge, whether its taking machinery over to North Keppel or Pumpkin Island or recovering an Oceanographic Buoy lost after the recent floods, the team have been busy!

Last weekend the Keppel Barge donated their services again to support the GKI Kanu Classic run by the Cap Coast Outrigger Canoe Club. Mick and Brad took over 40 canoes across to Great Keppel Island and back to ensure everyone was ready to race!

Our team is always on the water connecting the islanders to the mainland.
