Coast Guard shadowing boat back from Great Keppel

A CREW from the Yeppoon Coast Guard is currently shadowing a boat back from Great Keppel Island after one of its motors stopped working.

A Coast Guard spokesperson said they did not expect to have any trouble with the boat, but were following to make sure the 12 people on board got back to land safely and were prepared to tow it if necessary.

This morning, the Coast Guard was also called to tow in a small boat located close to shore after its motor stopped.

Throughout the day there have been large numbers of people out on the water.
