Coast rally targets island plan

RENTON Bishopric is a local resident concerned about the proposed future for Great Keppel Island.

He is one of a team planning a rally this Sunday to put a spotlight on the issues, in particular, Tower Holding's plans.

Renton said people were unaware that a majority of the plan was for development on public access land, known as Lot 21, that in the past has been a conservation zone.

The rally will gather from 9am on Fishermans Beach at the island before marching to the first lookout for a “reclaiming of Lot 21, public recreational reserve”.
