Comets upset Northern Pride in Cairns

THE Central Comets have scored a major upset in Cairns, defeating 2010 premiers the Northern Pride 30-22 at Barlow Park.

The Comets led 22-4 at half-time and did enough to hold out the fast-finishing home side in the second half.

Central's win ended the Pride's brilliant run of 15 straight home victories.
