Competitors register early interest in 7 Rocky River Run
RUNNING: Entries are already rolling in for Rockhampton's iconic Rocky River Run, to be held on Sunday, May 28, this year.
Nominations opened on Monday, which coincided with the announcement of Seven Central Queensland as the new naming rights sponsor of the event.
Rockhampton employment company CTC managed the running of the event last year and felt the event could grow faster and larger with the help of new naming rights partner, Channel 7.
Early bird registrations are now open, with a range of distances available for interested participants.
The 7 Rocky River Run is a great tourist attraction for Rockhampton and major contributor to funding for local community groups.
It is raising funds directed towards supporting young people, especially acknowledging the work of Ronald McDonald House Charity across Australia and specifically regional Queensland.
CTC general manager Darryl Lapworth said it was exciting to be back in the tenth year.
"It was an honour to be involved last year for the charity. CTC works closely with the community and we understand what makes a successful event, perfect for the whole family,” he said.
"With new additions this year, Rockhampton will be in for a treat.”
The 7 Rocky River Run caters for people of all ages, abilities and fitness levels, and also has a dedicated race for those in wheelchairs.
