Conduct breach costs Nielsen place in squad

DRAGONS centre Dane Nielsen may have been stood down this week after being involved in an altercation with a player from a rival NRL club.

St George-Illawarra confirmed the Mackay product, who played in a premiership with the Melbourne Storm, had not been selected this week for breaching the club's code of conduct.

"Dane Nielsen has not been named in any team this week due to a breach of the club's code of conduct and the NRL Integrity Unit has been informed," the club said in a released statement.

The Integrity Unit will only step in and take over the investigation if it is not satisfied Nielsen (pictured) has been properly dealt with by the Dragons.

The 29-year-old, who spent two seasons with the Warriors before signing with the Dragons, was dropped prior to last weekend's win over the Raiders, and chose not to play for the club's reserve grade team to recover from general soreness.
