Conor McGregor post causes fan meltdown

CONOR McGREGOR has got fans asking questions after sporting a black eye.

The UFC superstar posted a shot on his Instagram enjoying a slap-up meal on his luxury private jet alongside his son Conor Jr.

But he appeared to be sporting a bruise under his left eye while flying to Ibiza.

"We are having lunch on the jet on our way to Ibiza, and he is still after the watch too," McGregor captioned the post.

"My young son is like his father. A ruthless animal."

McGregor, 29, is set to be stripped of his UFC lightweight belt after Dana White revealed Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov are set to go head to head at UFC 223.

But with up-and-coming MMA star Nurmagomedov taking the division by storm, McGregor could soon have to face the Russian himself.

If his post is to be believed, McGregor's training has gone to a new level in recent weeks ahead of a comeback.

He posted an image six days before without any sign of a black eye, suggesting he was dealt the shiner in recent days.

It didn't take long for eagle-eyed fans to also pick up on the shiner under McGregor's left eye.

The Irishman has not fought in the octagon since beating Eddie Alvarez in New York in November 2016 and was beaten in a megabucks boxing match by Floyd Mayweather in August last year.

McGregor's coach John Kavanagh has also talked up the potential meeting with Nurmagomedov.

"I do think this is the immovable object and the unstoppable force," Kavanagh said.

"They're on a path to meeting each other. So I'm of course watching everything that he does."
