Cooler start but Rocky could still hit 40 degrees
IF you're thinking Rocky weather has dodged a bullet today, don't breathe too easy just yet.
As cloud cover clears away to the east, the Central Highlands has hit 40 degrees and Rocky could still get there.
Bureau of Meteorology weather observer, Benj Blunt says it's all depends on what the cloud does.
"If it clears away, which it's starting to, we could still get there yet," Benj says.
"Emerald has just hit 40 degrees."
Complicating matters, the Gladstone radar has been down for the past day and a half and unlikely to be fixed before this evening.
Though we do know the forecast is still a 60 percent chance of showers this afternoon and evening with the chance of thunderstorms as well.
