A near miss between a motor vehicle and train near Grandchester.

YOUR STORY: On Monday night at about 7pm my lady and I were in my car waiting patiently at the traffic lights on the corner of Herries and Dent Sts in Toowoomba.

We were heading out of town and the rail crossing behind us had activated just after we crossed, subsequently the Dent St intersection light sequence changed to wait for the train.

Normally when faced with red lights cars stay where they are but three red cars; a sedan, a wagon with a NSW plate and Landrover Defender, all decided they had waited enough and went through the intersection.

The Landrover was particularly interesting as he went from behind us, up the turn lane and across the intersection.

Lucky for them I had a seniors moment and wasn't fast enough to get the rego numbers.

I'm looking for the Landrover which was distinctive by having a short cab, so when I find it we shall be having a short chat.

Come on people, with the road toll escalating mostly through crazy decisions by drivers we don't need this type of stupidity.

Red means stop. Failure to do so could result in a $353 fine and the lose of three demerit points.
