Cops to quiz man on house blaze

A MAN is in hospital after a fire at a house in Doyle Street, Woorabinda last night.

Senior Sergeant Steve Quinn said police would question a 32-year-old man in relation to the fire.

The incident occurred about 10.30pm, with a man suffering minor burns and smoke inhalation.

No-one else was injured.

It is believed the man was the occupant of the house.

He is currently hospitalised in Rockhampton and will be questioned in regards to the matter once he is in a stable condition.

The fire was reported to be well under control at 11.45pm.

There was substantial damage to the house and at one stage firefighters were unable to enter because the roof was unstable.

Brigades from Baralaba, Blackwater and Woorabinda attended.
