Council flooded with storm calls

ROCKHAMPTON Regional Council's customer service centre has been inundated with more than 220 phonecalls about storm and water damage.

A council spokeswoman says the majority of calls have been about fallen trees.

"We are trying to respond as quickly as we can and have all available resources on call-out."

The council is asking people to be patient when making calls to the customer service centre and warns there may be longer than average waiting times.
