Rockhampton council wants to meet flood victim Maxi Bader

ROCKHAMPTON Regional Council chief executive officer Evan Pardon yesterday said the council was planning to sit down with flash flood victim Maxi Bader.

"Council intends to meet with Ms Bader to discuss the issues and any way we can assist," he said.

"A recent meeting between councillors, officers and the owner had to be rescheduled."

Mr Pardon said it was difficult to understand the full circumstances of the situation by communicating through third parties in a public forum.

"Council would like to meet with Ms Bader directly to better understand her predicament and what can be done to assist," Mr Pardon said.

"In the short time frame given yesterday afternoon, council was unable to verify if any council staff had spoken to Ms Bader during the day. "But council welcomes any communication with Ms Bader and apologises for any suggestion to the contrary.

"Until such time as this meeting can proceed it would be inappropriate for council to comment as we would like to have any discussions with the property owner first."
