Countdown on to Muster start

THE biggest delivery in the history of the Optus Gympie Music Muster is about to begin with 30th birthday celebrations in place and finalised.

Countdown is officially on for the nationally recognised event which gets under way on Tuesday and runs until Sunday, August 28.

The six-day festival boasts a line-up of international superstars, icons, the biggest names in country music, blues and alternate country.

With an estimated 60,000-plus fans expected to descend on the Amamoor Creek State Forest to join in the birthday celebrations, its final preparations and details are being worked on now by event organizers as the beginning day draws nearer.

Early-bird campers have been set up on site for more than two months and each day, campsite numbers continue to swell as more festival-goers arrive, preparing for the impressive entertainment line-up and activities.

Not that’s its just live performances on offer.

For those simply seeking an unforgettable life experience, a fun place to unwind, an opportunity to learn line dancing or an event that not only caters for children but provides the ultimate in baby sitting with their Kidz Klub, then the 2011 Optus Gympie Music Muster is definitely the place to be.

While music makes up and takes up the days of the Muster, its main passion remains fundraising and giving, which has kept the event unique.

As Australia’s longest running not-for-profit music festival, the Muster has raised more than $14 million for charities and community groups across Australia and has grown to become a nationally and internationally renowned event with fans travelling from across the country and the globe to take in the unforgettable experience.

The 2011 Optus Gympie Music Muster will be more than just the 30th birthday of the now iconic event - it will also signal a new era for the major calendar event inclusion for all fans of live music performance and festival experiences.

International superstars, national icons, familiar faces and emerging stars are all set to take to the stage at the 2011 Optus Gympie Music Muster.

Artists include Montgomery Gentry (USA), Doc Walker (USA), John Williamson, Troy Cassar-Daley, Lee Kernaghan, Graeme Connors, Beccy Cole, Jace Everett (USA), Adam Harvey, James Blundell, Eugene Hideaway Bridges (USA) and James Reyne.
