Oct 22: THERE'S no need for North Queensland Cowboys fans to fear.

The club yesterday confirmed they had not passed the ball on bringing the hard-fought 2015 NRL Premiership trophy to the Beef Capital after other media outlets reported Rockhampton was being bypassed by the Townsville boys.

When the Cowboys claimed victory in the NRL grand final against the Brisbane Broncos, it was the first premiership in the club's history.

A Cowboys' spokesperson said Rockhampton was definitely on the trophy tour map.

At this stage the club can't give an exact timeframe for the visit, with planning still underway.

There were reports Bundaberg was given preference over Rockhampton for a pre-season trial game in the coming months.

But the Cowboys' spokesperson said the game was being arranged by the Broncos and Bundaberg Rugby League and was not within the North Queensland club's footprint.
