CQ bridge set to re-open Friday

THE Central Highlands Council has been monitoring river and dam levels, and now expects the John Gay bridge to re-open late Friday afternoon.

All drivers should continue with their alternative transport arrangements until advised further, council said in a statement released late Thursday afternoon.

Traffic controls will remain in place on the Capricorn and Gregory highways intersection until the John Gay Bridge is open.

Council will advise residents through its electronic message boards, website and Facebook when the Bridge reopens.

Residents and visitors are reminded not to attempt to walk or drive through flooded roads.

For the latest on state road conditions go to www.131940.qld.gov.au or phone 13 19 40.
