CQ business alert: Find out about Rocky's huge $75m boost

ROCKHAMPTON business owners are encouraged to attend next month's Beef Australia 2018 business and community breakfast meeting to hear how they can benefit from the huge event.

Every three years Beef Australia provides Rockhampton with a significant economic boost and this year Beef Australia wants to ensure local businesses are equipped with the information they need.

Beef Australia 2018 is set to draw in more than 90,000 people.

Beef Australia 2018 Denis Cox, will discuss with business owners what steps can be taken to encourage visitors to engage with their services or products during the expo from May 6-12.

"During Beef Australia 2015, $74M was injected into the CQ economy during the expo. In 2018 we want to ensure our local business owners are aware of the diverse demographics who visit Rockhampton in this period, so they can take steps to ensure their business will benefit during the week,” Mr Cox said.

Capricorn Enterprise is supportive of this initiative and is encouraging all businesses to participate.

"When looking at long-term visitor statistics it's extremely evident that Beef Australia provides a massive spike in visitors to our region every three years,” Capricorn Enterprise tourism and marketing manager Deanne Bowd said.

"This massive influx of visitors and dollars spent offers an opportunity for every single business to participate, benefit, and leverage like no other event does.

"Not only is the beef industry on show, but so is the entire region, and the experiences we all offer; so, this community meeting is a great way to learn how to be a part of that.”

The breakfast meeting will be on Thursday, February 1 at the Empire Apartment Hotel Conference Room.
