CQ NRL Bid boss arrives in Rocky

FORMER North Queensland Cowboys boss Denis Keeffe has arrived in Rockhampton to take up his post as inaugural CEO of the CQ NRL Bid team.

Keeffe, who was in charge when the Cowboys made their only grand final appearance in 2005, arrived in the city on Monday.

Keeffe is currently working from JM Kelly headquarters on Richardson Road until arrangements are made to relocate to the former Brothers Leagues Club, now known as CQ Bid Leagues Club, on Lion Creek Road.

When The Morning Bulletin caught up with Keeffe in the CBD on Tuesday, he talked up CQ's chances of winning an NRL licence and spoke with confidence about the bid team's business plan.

Keeffe will attend a media conference in Rockhampton on Wednesday.
