CQ's Carols by Candlelight raises $6000

ROCKHAMPTON Horse Riding for the Disabled will benefit to the tune of $6305.64, thanks to the generosity of concert goers at the 2016 Rockhampton Carols by Candlelight.

The amount was raised from donations and ticket sales at the Pilbeam Theatre and Music Bowl Carols by Candlelight concerts on 7 and 11 December. Approximately 2000 people attended the concerts.

Rockhampton Mayor Margaret Strelow said she was delighted with the concerts and with the outcome for the charity.

"Although the rain tried to dampen our enthusiasm on the Saturday night at the Music Bowl, the rescheduled concert went ahead and we had a great time," she said

"I would like to thank Artistic Director Melanie March as well as the performers, band and all those involved for creating two magical nights for the 2016 Carols by Candlelight.

"In addition to two great events, we can also be proud of the fact that the Rockhampton community came together and helped our nominated charity, Rockhampton Horse Riding for the Disabled."

Carols by Candlelight is a Rockhampton Regional Council event supported by The Morning Bulletin, WIN Television, SEA FM and other local businesses.
