Central Queensland’s one minute silence for fallen tomorrow

CENTRAL Queenslanders will gather throughout the region tomorrow to commemorate Remembrance Day and take part in the traditional one minute silence at 11am.

Yeppoon RSL is set to host the Capricorn Coast's premier event with the service beginning at 10.30am.

The club has been hosting Remembrance Day events for more than 20 years with each year drawing in bigger crowds.

RSL president Chris Penglase said it was important for the community to take part in the day, whether by attending an event or observing a minutes' silence at 11am.

"It's just a remembrance for all our fallen, for all the people who fought and died and supported the country in volunteering to service the country," Mr Penglase said.

"It's only a small service but it's a good one."

Mr Penglase said the community was invited to attend the service from 10am to 11.15am and a function following for a gold coin donation.

The Yeppoon RSL is located on Normanby Street.
