Crash boy too ill to interview
POLICE are waiting for a Rockhampton boy, 13, to recover before questioning him in relation to the theft of a vehicle on the weekend.
The teenager was badly injured after a four-wheel drive crashed at St Lawrence on the Bruce Hwy on Sunday morning.
Yesterday morning he was in the intensive care unit at Rockhampton Hospital.
A police spokesman said he was expected to come out of the unit during the day, but police would hold off speaking with him until he was in a condition to talk.
This could be a few days.
It is believed the youth was one of three juveniles in a Toyota LandCruiser, which was stolen from a Frenchville home between 7pm Saturday and 7am Sunday.
The police spokesman said authorities were yet to speak with the two other juveniles involved.
