Fire crews monitor Lake Mary fire overnight

CREWS were monitoring a blaze near Lake Mary Rd west of Yeppoon overnight.

The fire broke out about 8am yesterday and crews had contained it by 4.20pm, but continued to monitor through the night.

Yesterday morning, six Queensland Fire and Emergency Services crews were on scene at the fire.

The fire was not threatening any property, but a large smoke haze is affecting nearby areas.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and drive to conditions as smoke may affect visibility in the area.
