Mount Larcom grass fire under control

UPDATE 6.30PM: THE grass fire at Mount Larcom was extinguished by crews at 10am this morning and no longer poses a threat to the area.  

 

FIRE crews are monitoring a grass fire burning near Ambrose Bracewell Rd at Mount Larcom this morning.  

The fire was contained last night and will be monitored throughout the day to ensure it stays within containment lines. The fire is posing no threat to property at this time.  

A smoke haze remains in the area and residents are asked to close windows and doors and if suffering from a respiratory condition, keep medications close by.  

Motorists should drive with caution and to conditions.   

If residents are concerned their property is under threat they are advised to call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
