Cyanide contamination investigated

THE state government is investigating the release of cyanide contaminated wastewater into Gladstone Harbour in Central Queensland.

Media reports this morning said the release of wastewater with potentially high levels of cyanide came from the Orica Yarwun plant in Gladstone.

The Department of Environment and Resource management will hold a press conference in Gladstone this morning to explain.
