Dale McPherson was a member of counter terrorism force

DALE McPherson enlisted in 1991 and completed basic training at Wagga Wagga, New South Wales.

He was awarded Most Outstanding Recruit by General Peter Cosgrove. He then joined the Infantry Corp and trained at Singleton, NSW. He was posted to Townsville in 1991 and marched in Bravo Company.

He served with the 1st Battalion in Somalia, Africa, in 1993. He was selected for the SAS in Perth in 1996 and commenced counter terrorist duties in 1998. He then served in East Timor in 1999. In 2000, he was a member of the Sydney Olympics Counter Terrorist Force.

Dale returned to the Brisbane 6th Battalion in 2004. He left the Army as a corporal. He now works in Afghanistan with the Australian Embassy.
