YOUNG ballerinas on the Darling Downs will soon have the chance to be part of a professional youth ballet company.

National Conservatoire Ballet Company founder and director Sarah Brown grew up in Crows Nest before she danced her way around the world - Brisbane, Perth, Paris, London, Frankfurt and Melbourne.

In Melbourne she was a principal dancer for a professional ballet company for eight years, a group which unfortunately closed soon after she left.

She moved to Toowoomba a year ago and has been touring regional areas and doing workshops for dance schools.

"I realised there's nothing for kids in rural areas that gives them an opportunity to show them what it's like in a professional company," she said.

Ms Brown plans to use her important professional global connections for the benefit of her students and the region's dancing schools.

"We're not here to compete with other dance schools, but to work with them," she said.

The company focuses on the Darling Downs, Lockyer Valley and Western Downs regions and will be open to dancers eight years and over and starts in 2015.

Auditions will be held on the weekend of November 29 - 30 at St Ursula's Dance Room, 18 Rome St Toowoomba.
