Dancing with the stars

FRIENDS of Kaylee Whitmore and Katie Rosengreen should get in for their autograph early.

The pair were gleaming like they were on stage yesterday at Kaylee's Alton Downs home when they were reminded they were appearing on Disney Channel's Let's Dance.

Last night the Rockhampton State High School pair made their debut performance on the Disney Channel show, which could see them popping and locking with Australian pop star Timomatic.

Australian boys and girls between eight and 18 were invited to film and submit a video of themselves dancing.

In their piece, Kaylee and Katie fused their love of jazz with their passion for hip-hop to come up with a one minute video of pure swagger.

Broadband at Kaylee's Alton Downs home proved a nuisance though as she could not upload their video.

She was forced to download her clip on to a USB stick and send it in via good old post.

"When we received the email saying that we had been shortlisted, we just panicked," she said.

". . . we just couldn't believe it."

Later this month, Kaylee and Katie will be biting their fingernails as Disney Channel announces the dance videos that will feature in the new Timomatic dance clip.

Timomatic said: "Let's Dance on Disney Channel is about using all your passion, all your energy, all your mind to just dance - enjoy it, focus and work hard."

Timomatic and Disney Channel are looking for creativity, diversity and a passion for dancing, said a spokesman. To participate, entrants must submit up to four 15 second videos. Entries close on Tuesday July 10.
