Day finishes well off the pace
YOU cannot be shooting par rounds when Tiger Woods is in the field.
Former Rockhampton golfer Jason Day finished well off the pace in the BMW Championship that ended at the weekend at Chicago.
Having opened with a par 71 round, Day drifted out of contention while Woods burned his way around the course. The difference was illustrated in the third round with Day going four over par for the day while Woods scored a stunning nine under par 62.
Woods' total for the four rounds was 265, eight shots ahead of second placegetter Jim Furyk.
Unfortunately Day drifted to the tail of the field, with a total score of 292, which was eight over for the tournament and 27 shots behind Woods.
Highest placed Aussie was Marc Leishman who tied with Furyk for second place while Robert Allenby went round in 285, one over, for the tournament.
