Hairdresser in her pink Hilux 'Dolly' wins drag race of year

TOP Gun debutant Robyn Granshaw made sure the boys knew who was boss on Saturday night.

Granshaw made her debut in the senior ranks as CQ Mudsportz hosted their third and final twin track mud sprints event of the year.

The hairdresser and her pink Hilux 'Dolly' fired, winning the final Top Gun drag race of the year.

Granshaw won the feature drag race ahead of Steven Hull (Awesomeness) and Stewie Smith's Fat Guts.

With a win in the feature race - the Top Gun twin-track sprints - firmly in her grasp, Granshaw and Dolly failed to fire.

Hull turned the tables on Granshaw, winning the Top Gun twin-track sprint race after a mechanical failure let Granshaw down.

"Her starter motor let her down in the final," CQ Mudsportz chief track marshal Shane Titmarsh said.

"She had a very good chance of winning it, but it wouldn't tick over."

Age wasn't a barrier for Bryce Titmarsh as the 10-year-old outdid his older rivals in the junior drag race.

Titmarsh finished narrowly ahead of Bailey Titmarsh and Jack Dickenson to take the title, which featured a field of 10 competitors.

Henry Steggall and 'The Steg' won the junior twin-track sprints ahead of Dickenson and Bailey Titmarsh.

Such was the success of the evening, Shane Titmarsh said the club was hoping for double the action in 2014.

Titmarsh said the club was hoping to hold six meets next year, and was considering hosting the 2014 Queensland championships at the Kabra track, located 10 minutes west of Rockhampton.

It would be the first Queensland titles event.
