Is Del Piero going to stick around?

THE more Alessandro Del Piero's contract negotiations drag on with Sydney FC, the more speculation will surround his future.

The latest rumour surfaced yesterday, with Italian newspaper Tuttosport running an article that the star attacking midfielder could join Brazil side Flamengo.

Tuttosport reported that Brazilian legend Zico spoke to the Sky Blues star in an effort to lure him to take up a two-year deal.

The 38-year-old has kept Sydney fans nervous as he is yet to accept the second year option of his contract in the harbour city.

The Italian newspaper claimed Del Piero's brother Stefano flew to Rio de Janeiro to discuss the possible move.

Tuttosport reported the World Cup winner was keen to explore his options following Sydney's on-field woes this season.
