Des approves new disability friendly bathroom

RECENTLY I attended a luncheon event at the Leichardt Hotel to support the successful lobby for disabled bathroom facilities at the hotel.

I was supported by Brittany Lauga, local Member for Keppel, Mayor Margaret Strelow and Robynne Clifton as the lobbying for the bathrooms has been a long process and the result of many annual Pub Crawl events.

This success was also welcomed by the hotel manager Renee Prior and Coles Myer Group.

Spinal Life Australia, who provided advice on the design of the facility, was also in attendance along with SLA CEO Michael Powell, representatives from the Department of Communities, CQUniversity, local taxi drivers and many other community minded organisations and committee members.

This was a great opportunity to view the results of the lobbying that follows each successive event.

Once again this Friday night the 2017 Accessible Pub Crawl is starting at 5.30pm at the Heritage Hotel.

For more information or to attend, phone Des 0417 775 365.
