FOR Rebecca Scotney and husband Grant, a day out at the races is all about getting glamorous and enjoying a couple's day out.

On Saturday, Rebecca was named the Best Dressed Lady at the Rockhampton Cup after taking a risk with her bold geometric print dress.

Despite always admiring races fashion, Rebecca said she was always too nervous to enter herself.

It wasn't until Grant convinced her to just give it a go that she threw her fascinator into the judging ring.

Rebecca was off to a racing start, winning the first Fashions on the Field she entered.

She's been hooked ever since.

A mother of three girls, Rebecca said she loved having the chance to really dress up for race days.

She said her daughters were already looking forward to dressing up for the races in the future.

"Women of all ages can enter, it's not just for the young generation," Rebecca said.

"It's about feeling beautiful and confident in a lovely dress and headpiece.

"And it's a lovely way to spend a day with my husband looking handsome in a suit."

Rebecca won a 9ct yellow gold emerald-cut tanzanite and diamond ring as well as a one-year membership for two to the Rockhampton Jockey Club.
