‘Disgusting’: Kyrgios spits at umpire
THE Nick Kyrgios show has added its latest chapter with the mercurial Aussie unleashing a profanity-laced tirade at the chair umpire.
The Aussie was back on the court for a second-round showdown against eighth-seeded Russian Karen Khachanov at the Cincinnati Masters where he fell 6-7, 7-6, 6-2.
Kyrgios managed to secure the opening set despite battling foot/ankle issues and it was during the first change of sets where his rants got underway.

After calling for the trainer, Kyrgios decided to use him as a sounding board and coach.
"If he had of held at 5-3 that would have been it, like he literally broke himself. I didn't have to do anything," Kyrgios said.
"Bro I didn't even move to break him. He hit a double, missed the ball long, missed the ball long. I just stood there and slapped one winner, he literally just broke himself.
"Did not move, I can just stand there and serve and not really move. It's annoying … it really hurts."
Kyrgios then threw his towel over the camera, forcing the broadcasters to switch to an overhead view.
The injury continued to plague Kyrgios throughout the second set as the two men went back and forth.
But it was during the ninth game of the set where Kyrgios was tipped over the edge, this time his outburst was due to the service clock and it was chair umpire Fergus Murphy who copped the full brunt of his outbursts.
On several occasions the clock was left with only seconds remaining, forcing Kyrgios to race through his first serve.
He had words for Murphy and continued all the way to his seat, bringing up notorious slow server Rafael Nadal.
"You're telling me Rafa plays that quick every service ball? That's hilarious bro, hilarious," Kyrgios said to Murphy.
"I missed the ball, the guy starts the clock.
"If Rafa plays that quick I'm retiring. Retiring from tennis.
"Absolute rubbish … disgrace.
"Get me some footage of Rafa playing that quick, that game. If you can find any of that I'll shut my mouth and never speak again.
"I guarantee you'll find none of that, none of it."
The outbursts from Kyrgios continued as the match got back underway with the broadcasters forced to apologise for the obscenities as he continued to drop F-bomb after F-bomb.
Kyrgios. "Rafa's routine alone takes 20 seconds. This is a joke. I'm one of the fastest players..."— José Morgado (@josemorgado) August 15, 2019
Khachanov secured the second set to force the match into a deciding third set, but as the two men got back to their seats it was Kyrgios who unleashed over Murphy's umpiring.
"The worst f***ing ref ever, the worst ref in the game," Kyrgious shouted at the top of his lungs.
"The worst, hands down. Every time I play he's doing some stupid sh*t, every time."
The outburst earned Kyrgios a court violation from Murphy who had clearly had enough of being targeted with the profanity.
After asking to head to the bathroom, Kyrgios walked off the court holding two racquets. The cameras in the hallway captured him slamming the two into the walls before he walked back out onto the court.
Murphy radioed through to the backroom to check why he had returned with two destroyed racquets but the Aussie escaped a warning after it wasn't picked up by any of the other umpires.

As Kyrgios' mind remained focused on the service clock and going after the chair umpire, Khachanov took advantage in the deciding set and claimed the victory.
But after the two men met at the net, Kyrgios wasn't finished with Murphy and as he made his way towards the umpire he unleashed once again.
"You're a f***ing tool bro," Kyrgious said before appearing to spit in the direction of the umpire.
The ugly scenes from the fiery Australian drew the ire of the commentators who proclaimed the showing was "disgusting".
"We haven't heard the end of this and from what he did at the end was quite frankly, truly disgusting and a big fine for Kyrgios," one commetator said.

Khachanov now moves into the third round and will take on Frenchman Lucas Puille after he comfortably took care of Canadian Denis Shapovalov 6-4, 6-4.

Think that might be the end of Kyrgios for 2019. I'm for his antics, but there is a clear line and he crossed it tonight. Could be a lengthy suspension on the way. #ATP— Scott Pryde (@sk_pryde) August 15, 2019
