Dog squad hunts knife wielding pirate on Gold Coast

POLICE are searching for a man dressed as a pirate who produced a knife at a Gold Coast film set this afternoon.

At around 12.25pm, the man was attempting to enter the premises on Clubhouse Drive at Helensvale, when he was intercepted by a security guard.

The man was attempting to imitate a cast member by wearing a pirate suit. He also had a parrot on his shoulder.

The man produced a knife, before running away into nearby bush land.

The dog squad and police are currently searching the local area, and police are looking at CCTV footage to determine the identity of the man.

Anyone who can assist police with their enquiries is urged to contact police.
