Eddie to market rugby league club to community and business
EDDIE Doherty has always been a proud CQ Capras supporter, and now it's officially his job to make everyone else one too.
Mr Doherty has been appointed as the new operations manager at the CQ Capras, replacing Walson Carlos.
"I'll look to work closely with businesses and community organisations, as well as the players and coach, to do what we can to push the Capras brand forward and look for some more success on and off the field," he said.
"I definitely would like to see more schools or more junior league involvement… I'd like to see us out and about more." He said he'd also aim to get a CQ NRL team up and running.
CQ Capras CEO Denis Keeffe said he was not only impressed with Eddie's wide range of management expertise, but with his eagerness to engage.
"I know the CQ Capras will grow its brand, and continue to improve the on and off-field position with the enthusiastic application of Eddie's management skills," Mr Keeffe said.
Mr Keeffe said Mr Carlos resigned from his position, and would be pursuing his own business interests.
He thanked him for his effectiveness in what he described as a trying period for the CQ Capras.
"Walson has been instrumental in the significant achievements of the Capras that have occurred in the past few years," he said.
Mr Doherty will start in the CQ Capras office early next month.
