Carols by the beach postponed until next Sunday

UPDATE: YEPPOON'S Carols by the Beach has been postponed until next Sunday the 18th thanks to weather forecasts.

According to organisers forecasts show an 80% chance of rain and strong winds all day and going into the evening.

EARLIER: YEPPOON beachfront becomes a hive of activity today when 'JRT Carols by the Beach' transforms Main Beach into a Christmas delight featuring an exceptional program of community talent and entertainment.

Early activities get underway from 10am with market stalls and the main stage program starting at 1pm with the Keppel Community Band followed by the Capricorn Coast Country Music Group.

A major feature of the afternoon at 3.30pm will be the Lex Semple Memorial Santa Run Street Parade which will travel from Beaman Park down Normanby St and Anzac Pde to the Keppel Bay Sailing Club.

The afternoon and evening line-up includes Xmas in Dance, combined schools choir, a traditional carols showcase as well as a special presentation on The Meaning of Christmas from the combined churches group.

Of course no Carols By The Beach would ever be complete without a visit from their very special guest, Santa, who will be arriving at 7.45pm to wish everyone Merry Christmas and count down the amazing fireworks finale at 8pm.

Families can purchase candles and glow sticks.
