Doors close as Studio 2 buckles under downturn in region
ROCKHAMPTON nightclub Studio 2 closed its doors on Monday.
The business is believed to be under voluntary administration.
Owner Tim Austin said he closed the business due to a downturn in the market.
"Just about every market in Rockhampton is on a downturn…look at the numbers of businesses closing," he said.
"We decided to close up because it was costing too much money to keep it open."
In a Facebook post, Mr Austin said due to the downturn in the market and low attendance numbers in the entertainment precinct, he had no choice but to close.
A spokesman for the Giddy Goat, the building's freehold owners, said the business was under receivership and until that was sorted he did not want to make any comment.
